Taijiquan is an effective martial art and a path to health, vitality and personal development.

Nowadays it is common to run across terms such as "Taiji" or "Tai Chi", which are typically regarded as a gentle form of exercise performed slowly, occasionally to accompanying music.

However, the original purpose of this art is something else entirely.

Taiji and “Tai Chi” are derived from the Chinese term “taiji quanfa”. “Taiji” means "Cosmos", and “quanfa” refers to martial arts. In other words; Taiji, Tai Chi, Tai Chi Chuan and Taijiquan have originally all been used to mean the same thing - “Cosmos Kungfu” as a direct translation, i.e. a martial art which promotes health, spiritual cultivation and combat efficiency to an equal degree.

In Shaolin Nordic, Taijiquan is taught following its original purpose: a martial art aiming towards the cultivation of the body, the mind and the spirit.
